The AfterShokz Trekz Air are next generation in style and weight of bone conduction technology. AfterShokz designed these as the lightest and most organically designed open ear headphones to date.
They cut away bulk and utilized titanium where they could to fit more securely and increase sound quality. The Trekz Air products were inspired due to the needs and requirements of elite athletes who are wanting to bring music into their world.
These headphones new, organic, wraparound design is about 20% lighter than previous Titanium version which allows a more flexible fit. This leads to a more unnoticeable comfort and stability for wearing.

The Trekz Air utilize the Bluetooth V4.2 connectivity which allows for multiple device pairing. This is compatible with an iOS or Android smartphone which has Bluetooth. The Bluetooth ability also provides access on tablets, Mac or PC computers, and laptops.
The headphones provide a new “premium pitch plus” ability which gives the user a better premium audio experience, including wide dynamic range and rich bass.
Enjoy up to six hours of continuous music along with calls on a single full charge, or 20 days of standby time. To charge the Trekz Air to maximum life takes approximately 2 hours.
Durability
These have held up for over a month of rock climbing, bouldering and running. This has been a nice change versus previous headphones and airpods I have worn as these also don’t slip and move, or worse, fall out and down to the ground.
These are rated IP55 and are sweat proof and rain proof, but please note this doesn’t mean waterproof. These can hold up to a varied use over many different temperatures and weather combinations.
Sound Quality
I would like to put it out there that these aren’t Bose and Beats loud booming audio, simply put that isn’t really their purpose.
It is more like a movie where the background music is pumping you up but allowing you to focus on the task at hand.
It is an odd feeling at first and definitely takes some getting used to as most of us have only used in ear headphones our entire lives.
I qualify “background music” due to the fact the sound is driven via cheekbones into your ears, if you turn them up very high, at least in my case, the vibration bothered me.
This is going to be variable though as everyone is a little different and many may not be bothered by it and can crank it up!
Style And Overall Look
Unlike the Titanium, the 20% decrease in overall weight makes these so incredibly comfortable that you almost forget you are wearing them!
The old Titanium are heavier and the band ends up resting on your neck, due to the changes in the AfterShokz Trekz Air they now sit much higher in almost all cases.
These are also so minimal looking that they aren’t immediately noticed on people wearing them as the thin frame helps make them blend better without drawing significant attention to themselves.
They offer 4 different color combinations which fit the normal combos: Blue, Red, Green and grey.
Battery Life
The battery is rated and tested for up to 6 hours of continuous music and calls on the AfterShokz Trekz Air. The overall time to recharge the headphones clocks in at about 2 hours for a full battery in my testing.
